Operational Risk Developed Markets & Global Reserving Leader

CITY: Stamford STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Support Global Operational Risk Leader in development and execution of global infrastructure and guidelines to aid profitable growth.

* Engage and drive Country Risk and Finance teams in the deployment and approval of reserving models and techniques - apply extensive analytic knowledge to support the markets building new models and supporting exemptions.

* Design, track, and analyze key risk indicators by market and region - must be able to synthesize complex data and create a highly professional and credible summaries for submission to Senior Business and Risk Executives.

* Provide support to Regional Operational Risk Leaders to define appropriate measurement, modeling and monitoring techniques for loss event data.

* HQ point person for queries regarding Developed Countries Operational Risk and Global reserving policies/guidelines. Act as the liaison to the markets and fully leverage best practice sharing.

* Manage reserve adequacy reviews and requirements and report key drivers to HQ Senior Business Team.

* Work in partnership with HQ Functions (especially Finance) and act as a deputy on committees eg Disclosure, GECIFC, Operational Risk Steering Group.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* At least 5 years hands on experience in Finance or Risk Management with expertise in reserve modeling and techniques.

* Solid knowledge of Basel 2 including Operational Risk and Enterprise Risk Management appraisal methodologies, loss forecasting and reserving requirements.

* Proven expertise in applying analytic rigor to develop the operational risk and reserving infrastructure and link to Risk Appetite across a wide array of different business environments.

* Ability to interpret financial service, GAAP and FEFIC regulations and amend/create underlying policies in crafting proven value-add solutions.Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Pitch writing experience: ability to draft and present to GE Corporate Executives.

* Overall business acumen is important so that the Operational Strategy encompasses the interdependencies across the business functions.

* Prior experience and demonstrated success in working effectively with disparate local teams - proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

* Has good working knowledge of key GE Money products covering Consumer, Commercial and Retail portfolios.
