PRESIDENT

 

A privately held, growth-oriented $50 million consumer goods company is looking for a President with a strong background in consumer packed goods sales and marketing, manufacturing, and operations.  Working in partnership with the senior management team and Board of Directors, the President will provide strategic leadership and establish and execute short and long-term plans and programs to achieve the successful growth and prosperity of the company.

 

The company, located in Westchester County, New York, is an aggressive and dynamic organization with a long history of success and innovation within the specialty pet food category.  The key to the company?s growth and longevity has been its commitment to quality products, superior customer service, and overall category leadership through successful sales and marketing initiatives.

 

As the company is poised for further growth and enhanced performance, the successful candidate must be an effective leader with a proven track record of 1) increasing revenues and profitability through the implementation of effective sales and marking programs, and 2) achieving significant operational efficiencies by increasing productivity levels and reducing production related costs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 Board Administration: Manage the company?s relationship with the Board of Directors to develop and implement effective strategies, advise the Board of programs and opportunities and report the business and financial impact of the company?s objectives and goals.Strategic Development: Develop effective strategic goals and objectives, communicate those goals and objectives throughout the company and ensure their effective execution.Sales and Marketing: Develop and execute effective company-wide sales and marketing plans and programs.  Generate increased revenue through existing customers and channels as well as identify and establish new customers and market areas.  Develop and direct market research and competitor analysis programs.Operations: Lead all aspects of operations including R&D, manufacturing, purchasing, production planning, quality assurance, supply chain, and customer service.Financial Performance Management: Develop an annual budget and evaluate and manage the company?s financial performance.Management and Administration: Provide oversight of all company activities and manage the day-to-day operations.Human Resources: Motivate and lead a high-performance management team.

 

Qualifications

 Executive management experience in consumer packaged goods with a successful sales and marketing background in retail trades including big box, home improvement, grocery and discount clubs.General management experience with a proven ability to lead an executive team and partner with a Board of Directors.Strong operations management experience in improving operational effectiveness and achieving maximum efficiencies through cost costing and rationalization.A stable work history marked with continued accomplishment and success.Demonstrated success in a growth-oriented company.An understanding of all facets of the consumer goods distribution business (sales, marketing, finance, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and customer service).
