PRODUCT MANAGER, OTC

Leiner Health Products, America?s largest store brand manufacturer of vitamins, minerals, supplements (VMS) and diet aids and leading producer of store brand over the counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals, is searching for an exceptional Product Manager, OTC.  The position is located at the corporate office in Carson, California and reports to the Vice President, Marketing, OTC.

 

Overview

In support of senior marketing management, plans and executes complex marketing activities to maximize the growth and profitability of the OTC business unit.  Helps develop and implement OTC go-to-market strategy across all customers, sales regions and mass market classes of trade while maintaining alignment between sales/marketing and operations/customer service.  Participates in broad, varied and difficult marketing assignments requiring originality and ingenuity with moderate latitude for unreviewed decisions.

 

Responsibilities

- Performs special analytical projects assigned by senior marketing management in such areas as product line P&L management, pricing and process improvement. 

- Prepares advanced interpretations of complex customer product mixes and marketplace potential to determine possible additions, modifications or deletions to our corporate OTC ?what?s for sale? list.

- Facilitates the entire product development cycle and introduces high potential new products before competition.  Develops packaging, claims, and informational and promotional materials to support product launch.

- Assists marketing management in preparation of materials for sales, account marketing and management presentations in support of OTC go to market strategy.

- Assists marketing management in developing brand projects.

- Develops creative consumer and retailer programs for selected OTC products.  Produces difficult cost/benefit scenarios across a variety of promotional alternatives to maximize sales and profitability.  Executes high quality promotional programs at minimum cost.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Education

Bachelor?s degree with Marketing emphasis or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience

Two to five years experience in sales, marketing, or ad agency work required. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced knowledge of marketing and analytical principles.  Demonstrated ability to coordinate internal and external resources to accomplish established objectives in organizations.  Highly developed written/verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail.  PC skills including Office 97 preferred.
