Packaging Manager

This position will report to the Director of Packaging for SAM?S CLUB, it is a highly visible position with responsibility for Branded, Private Brands and Direct Import Items This position will be identifying, developing and implementing package designs for new and existing products while improving quality, reducing damages and driving sales through innovation.

 

1. Knowledge of Package Printing Processes; Material Production Process, Material Selection arid Package Design criteria
2. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with little direction; detail oriented; excellent communication skills with both internal and external groups
3. 2-5 years specialized experience in a retail, consumer product, food or pharmaceutical related industry
4. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Project)
5. Experience in creating, reviewing and approving packaging specifications including Bill of Materials.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires a Bachelor Degree in Packaging Science or a Industrial Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree.
A CPP is also acceptable.



ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to perform in an administrative role with discretionary authority to determine alternatives to specifications and execute self assignments
2. Travel minimum 15%
3. Experience authoring RFQ?s and Timelines for new projects and improving existing processes
