Process Engineer - Chemical, Compounding, Manufacturing

Our Client is the leading Southeast provider of complex liquid packaging services to companies in the personal care, salon care, household and industrial products markets.

 

They are currently seeking a PROCESS ENGINEER to serve as the main liaison between Business Development, compounding, and R&D for all formula developments and transitions. Please see detailed job description and qualifications below:

 

Works with compounders to develop and validate batch processing.  Works with Business Development to ensure all projects under consideration are appropriate to company capabilities.  Works closely with QA to ensure all batch processes are appropriate to yield specified outcomes.  Manages all trial and scale up activity in compounding.  Provides leadership in the lab area. 

 

1.  Provide leadership in Process Engineering to develop processes for all new formulas introduced to company as well as offer suggestions for improvement to current processes.

2.  Supervise all lab personnel.

3.  Work closely with R&D to develop custom formulas.

4.  Provide lab samples for developmental or transition products.

5.  Troubleshooting for in process batches which require adjustment.

6.  Develop business cases for equipment modification, upgrade or replacement.

7.  Develop specifications for customer or transition formulas.

 

Qualifications:

 

1.  BS in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

2.  4+ years of experience in Process Development, R&D or lab setting.

3.  Experience in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or personal care preferred.

4.  Experience with GC, HPLC and other lab equipment as it relates to batch testing and release.

5.  Must demonstrate leadership, project management and communication skills.

6.  Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.

7.  Proficient in all software applications relevant to the position including ERP systems, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Project.  **MFG Pro Software Knowledge STRONGLY Preferred!**

8.  Works well under pressure.

9.  Detail oriented with ability to meet changing priorities.
