Produce-related Technical Service Representative


Primary Purpose:

This position oversees the chain of events starting with the unloading of fruit from the vessel at the port, and ending with the consumer bringing home bananas in their grocery bag.

This position provides support to Dole's North American Sales and Marketing force by directly interacting with their customers. The Technical Services department is responsible to assist Dole's customers with any and all aspects of their banana programs.


Responsibilities:

Visit North American customer facilities to provide ripener training and support

Partner with North American sales force and R&D personnel to resolve issues related to the handling, packaging, ripening, and merchandising of fresh fruit products

Analyze customers' banana ripening programs, document recommendations, and report on issues

Plan and organize work schedules

Work on special projects and exciting banana-related experimentation

Education Required:

We require a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

Must have two or more years of retail, grocery, or produce/agricultural background (can be perishable food transportation) or experience.

Excellent communication skills, including well-developed ability to make group presentations

Analytical, critical thinking, and/or forensic-minded abilities

Must be quick thinking and able to adapt to all kinds of different environments, people, social situations, work situations, and work schedules

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
