Product Applications Specialist - Laminar Flow

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing field oriented technical applications support for customers and Thermo Direct and New Labs sales representatives, to assist in successfully addressing sales opportunities and driving growth in accordance with laminar flow product goals. This position will directly support the commercial product manager to achieve his/her financial objectives within North America. Under guidance from the commercial product manager, the CAS will execute on defined tactical actions to ensure that our sales representatives are well trained and educated on products, airflow technologies and applications. The CAS will also assist our field efforts by providing technical demonstrations and product installation support for our laminar airflow products as necessary, while providing ongoing strategic input related to product and portfolio enhancement, and will actively participate as a member of 3rd party trade organizations such as CETA (Controlled Environment Testing Association) and ABSA (American Biological Safety Association).


Key Responsibilities:

? Answer technical and applications questions, and understand the impact of laminar airflow products to our FDA-regulated customers, in support of sales opportunities
? Perform routine field training with company sales personnel to increase their awareness of product applications and airflow technologies
? Provide field demonstration and installation support on laminar airflow products.
? Produce and deliver technical presentations to potential customers to address technical concerns, installation or applications issues, to drive product adoption and sales growth
? Manage key product consignment opportunities to customers and training organizations across North America, to drive product acceptance and sales growth
? Provide routine feedback to the commercial product manger related to technology and customers needs that would be important for new product development or current product enhancement
? Participate on the Board of the CETA organization; attend annual CETA and ABSA meetings; research new product technology trends that may affect NSF regulations or Thermo business prospects

Job Requirements:

? Bachelors Degree a required minimum; engineering or life science degree preferred
? Experience in laminar airflow technology, certification, or sales of laminar airflow products
? Experience in delivering effective technical presentations to scientific researchers
? Previous successful experience in developing customer relations
? Strong problem solving skills
? Strong desire to succeed and ability to execute on multiple tasks
? Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communications abilities
? High proficiency in PC software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
? Willingness to travel extensively to accomplish assigned objectives (approx. 40%, primarily domestic)
? Valid passport
? Valid drivers license
