Reporting to: Senior Product Manager-- Specialty Products

SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, management, analysis and support of the division’s specialty product lines as assigned. Manage the activities of the Specialty Applications Specialist and Specialty Training Administrator. Coordinate the development of a Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP) to profitably meet customer needs, product trends and address regulatory requirements. Support the division’s product development process. Use data analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the specialty product offering. Support assigned channel’s sales force and customers in developing and maintaining product literature, and other material for that channel. Communicate product information to internal and external parties as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Help manage the breadth and depth of the specialty product categories as assigned to maximize divisional profitability. Develop channel Multi-Generational Product Plans (MGPP) on an annual basis. Ensures the MGPP incorporates market trends on a continuous basis, by product family, and implement enhancements to meet predefined annual market share and profitability objectives.
* Ability to interact on a professional level with Paloma and other sourcing partners.
* Fully support the division’s product development process to ensure timely and profitable new product introductions for the division. Incorporate integration of customer / channel requirements through various marketing research methods.
* Work closely with applicable managers to develop, implement and monitor product line strategies specific to the needs of each channel. Maintain competitive information regarding product and market conditions.
* Work closely with Research/Development, Manufacturing, Paloma and outside entities in executing the MGPP for the assigned channels.
* Responsible for internal and external product communications with Paloma, customers, sales force, and outside entities.
* Handle other related product/marketing tasks as assigned by the Specialty Manager, including any other assigned responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each skill, and/or ability required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
Minimum 3 years of related experience (i.e., marketing, engineering, sales, etc.).
Minimum 1-3 years experience supervising employees.
Experience in applaince or water heater industry.
Strong product management experience.
Experience with specialty markets.
Strong financial, analytical and reasoning skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team environment.
Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Project and Power Point).
Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
Strong communication skills (e.g., business correspondence and professional customer correspondence).
Strong presentation skills (Ability to effectively develop and present information to Senior management, customers, suppliers and government / technical agencies).
Experience in project management and coordination.
Ability to work independently and make informed, defendable decisions as they relate to products, customers and strategies.
Experience in data gathering, classification and analysis.
Unrestricted ability to travel (Up to 20% overnight travel).
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Masters in Business Administration.
Bachelor’s degree in technical field (i.e., Engineering).
Experience in developing and implementing multi-generational product plans.
Experience in International certification and agency requirements.
Supervising employees, and monitoring and assessing performance of employees.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publications in prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
