Product Manager ? Supporting major business growth
MicroOptical?s portable viewers connect to ordinary electronic devices and create full size virtual images through proprietary technology. Comfortable and compact, the myvu? personal media viewer allows for hands free and private viewing when connected to Apple iPod? with video, video-enabled cell phone or portable DVD players to watch music videos, movies, podcasts and other broadcasted or downloaded entertainment.
We have an immediate need for an experienced Product Manager, whose primary responsibility will be to support sales and business development activities by acting as the voice of the customer. The product manager will provide critical project management support as well as coordinate the timely resolution of technical issues. They will be a key contributor throughout the total product lifecycle from product conceptualization through product end of life.
Essential Job Functions
? Conduct voice of the customer marketing information gathering.
? Coordinate product plans for new product introductions and managing product life cycle.
? Coordinating engineering and manufacturing with sales and marking opportunities.
? Maintain time line on all activities surrounding product development and production.
? Maintain critical dates and deliverables.
? Work with Sales to develop need requirements and engineering to coordinate specifications and SOW and communicate progress with customer.
? Coordinate all deviations from SOW.
? Implement change orders.
? Conduct Market Research and key features.
? Assist in copy writing and technical writing of manuals.
? Assist in the stage gate process and conduct pricing analysis.
Qualifications
? 5+ years of experience in design of mass-produced consumer electronics such as cell phones, GPS receivers, wireless modems or similar devices.
? Project Management PMP certification preferred.
? BSEE, BSME, or equivalent required; MBA a plus.
? 15-20% travel.
