Silhouette/Vignette/Nantucket Business Unit

 

In this position you will be responsible for planning and purchasing textiles to support Silhouette and Nantucket product lines.Purchasing activities include planning the purchase of product using MRP data and other applicable production and marketing data, placing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, expediting as necessary, working through the quality process for non-conforming materialWork with several internal departments to resolve material movement issues, purchase order and invoice discrepanciesWork with Quality, Manufacturing, and the supplier to examine and resolve quality issuesManage supplier performance including on-time delivery, pricing, payment terms, service level and qualityNegotiate changes with suppliers for delivery, pricing, terms, etc.Conduct individual research of price increases by monitoring trade publications, business journals, etc.Prepare and issue forecast projections to suppliers Search for alternative supplier sources both domestic and off-shoreWork with Quality and Engineering to qualify new suppliersTravel periodically to visit current suppliers and qualify new suppliersMonitor inventory levels and maintain inventory turns goalsWork with R&D in the development of new fabrics

 

Qualifications include the following:A four year degree in business; emphasis on purchasing or production/operations is desired5 years experience in procurement in support of a manufacturing environmentTextile procurement experience is highly desiredExpert knowledge of the principles of purchasing, sourcing, and negotiationsAPICS/CPM certification is desirablePC proficient in Excel and WordSolid experience working with ERP system, preferably SAPAbility to analyze supply and demand informationExperience in supplier qualificationExperience in negotiating supplier agreementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain supplier partnershipsAbility to read, comprehend, interpret technical drawings
