Product Design Engineer Lead
Looking for a highly motivated mechanical engineering lead to join the product design group. You will be part of a cross-functional leadership team responsible for conceiving, designing and producing exciting new products.

You will lead a team of Product Design engineers to bring products to market. You will work closely with many different groups, including Thermal Architecture, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Packaging, Safety, EMC, and CPU software.



Requirements:
* BSME/MS or equivalent.
* 5 or more years experience in product design.
* Experience in leading development teams.
* Experience in plastic and metal part design.
* Experience with design cycle from concept to manufacturing.
* Innovative thinking, high motivation and energy.
* Experience designing products for the consumer electronics industry.

Preferred Experience:
* Direct management of product development engineering teams
* 3-D CAD skills helpful.
* Unigraphics or Pro-engineer fluency

* Experience in thermal design, thermal control

UNIGRAPHICS DESIGN ENGINEER
Complete mechanical and aerodynamic calculations and analysis to design compressor components and systems that meet customer performance and mechanical specifications. Work with Product Designers and Drafters to design each compressor considering cost, quality, lead-time and delivery targets. Define test instructions and support all tests and evaluations of the compressor product, assuring that each compressor design meets all customer specifications. Provide technical product support to internal customers including Manufacturing and Field Technical Support. Assist Marketing with compressor selection, performance, and technical issues during proposal stage of new or modified equipment. Support Compressor Product Development by establishing product and process needs, evaluating programs, and contributing to development process as needed.

Position requirements include:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree. Masters degree is a plus. Up to five years experience in centrifugal compressor aerodynamic and/or mechanical design. Experience with Finite Element Analysis; ANSYS is a plus. Familiarity with 3-D solids CAD; Unigraphics experience is a plus.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER UNIGRAPHICS



Duties to be performed:

- Design and develop innovative new products.



- Work independently and with other technical staff to develop new products from concept through production implementation.



- Lead cost reduction and improvement efforts on existing products.



- Use CAD (Unigraphics) to generate detailed product designs and drawings.



- Create, communicate and monitor project schedules and budgets. Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.



- Design injection components and assemblies using 3D design software. Create component, assembly and customer drawings.



- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve product related customer and production issues.



- Apply sound engineering principles and theory to engineering projects.



- Manage projects and product documentation.



- Collaborate with shop and manufacturing to coordinate prototype fabrication and new product implementation.


Skills, Training, Experience Required:

- BS/BA in engineering with minimum 4 years of engineering experience.

- Previous Product Design Engineering experience.

- Injection molded plastic part and/or sheet metal design experience required.

- Experience modeling components and assemblies using parametric 3D CAD software. Proficiency with Unigraphics preferred; SolidWords a plus.

- Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods.

- The qualified candidate shall be team oriented, schedule driven and provide a sense of urgency towards project completion.

- Experience with patent processes and practices, including record sketches.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to present recommendations and proposed ideas to upper management using appropriate MS Office software, including Project, Word, and Excel.
