Consumer Affairs Representative

The primary job function of the associate will be responsible for the intake and resolution of customer complaints, suggestions, compliments, donation requests and other customer inquiries.  Intake from customers includes: phone calls, comment cards, letters, e-mail and occasional walk in customers to the corporate office. Associate will also be a primary support person to other team members including: filing, assisting with community projects and other administrative tasks assigned.    Mandatory Skills and Knowledge Required: Passion and interest in providing World Class customer service to our customers.  Must be able to type 55 wpm or faster. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows 97, 98 or 2000 or above, with intermediate experience or above in Microsoft Word and Outlook.  Must have the ability to learn the Power Center Software which is the Consumer Affairs Department customer communications software tracking system.  Excellent oral and written communications skills. THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY TO HANDLE MULTIPLE TASKS SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH TIGHT DEADLINES.   Other Qualifications:  Professional demeanor, pleasant, enthusiastic telephone voice, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, focused, efficiently manages time, excellent follow-up, ability to work with minimum supervision, ability to deal with angry customers and diffuse the situation, arbitrate and create win-win resolution, research and resolve customer issues with store, district, and corporate management and identify root cause of situation.  Desire to work in busy, intense environment as a team member with a high performance department.  Associates will be required to wear head sets while taking customer input on the telephone.  Position is staffed Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
