Credit Representative

PGT Industries, one of Florida?s largest manufacturers of custom window and doors, is currently looking for a Credit Representative to join the Credit/Collections team at the North Venice, Florida location.

 

The Credit Representative will analyze payment patterns of customers who are delinquent in payment by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

 

Review the portfolio and select delinquent accounts for collection efforts.  Evaluate customer records and make appropriate decisions regarding future action on accounts according to standard practices.  Monitor payment history and purchase activity of customers.  Assign terms and credit limits to current and prospective customers.  Interview customers by telephone to investigate discrepancies on accounts.  Share information and resources with other team members to enhance the development of the group.  Maintain a customer service focus to build and sustain productive internal and external customer relationships.  Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal credit policies.  Assist in the development of credit rating criteria and internal scoring models.  Prepare credit and collection correspondence as necessary.  Confer with representative of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses.  Operate a personal computer and appropriate software.  Interact with various departments throughout the plant, such as, RMA, Shipping, Service, Sales and Customer Service.

 

Education, skills and qualifications: Prefer previous collections experience and/or call center experience.  Strong math skills, especially in dealing with percentages. Understanding of taxes, deposits and balances.  Ability to handle difficult customers in a professional manner, and willingness to research in order to provide ?one-stop shopping? to customers. Strong skills in Excel: ability to create and maintain spreadsheets containing formulas.  Experienced in MS Word. CBA (Credit Business Associate) or CBF (Credit Business Fellow) preferred.  Accounting skill and the ability to remain seated for long periods of time while handling both inbound and outbound calls.
