Customer Service Consultant

Position Overview: Assists customers, sales representatives, and other Clarke American locations in the handling of orders. Provides assistance in handling special and/or rush orders. Servers as a problem solver and expeditor for the department.
Duties and Responsibilities: Answers telephone calls from sales, other company locations, and customers. Responds to customers and others via telephone, faxes, and e-mails. Takes orders by telephone, etc. and places priorities as necessary. Routes orders to appropriate locations. Enters orders, handles inquiries into orders, changes or deletes orders on the computer. Contacts banks, customers, sales reps regarding question orders. Pulls previous orders to research problems. Interacts with management for order concerns, etc. Also, serves as the expeditor of the department keeping the work at a constant flow. Organizes, logs, researches and corrects returned merchandise. Requires lifting of up to 10 - 20 lbs. approximately 2 hours a day. Cleans and restocks workstation as necessary. All associates are responsible for using the principles of First In Service in order to continuously improve the performance, products, and services of Clarke American. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in training and other activities to keep up to date on processes, information, etc.
Education and Knowledge Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Previous Customer Service experience required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Previous experience is helpful in handling certain stressful situations. Excellent communication/people skills. Must possess positive attitude. Excellent telephone etiquette. Previous switchboard experience a plus but not required. Must have good organizational skills, must be able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Must have skills to pay attention to detail and the ability to be a team player. Additional testing may be required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Office environment. Exerting up to 10-lbs. office occasionally. Lifting approximately 10 to 20 lbs. daily. Must be able to work in a "Team Environment".
