 About the Position 

Title:   Customer Service / Dealer Representative 

Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Business Unit:  Terex Crushing & Screening

Shift: 1st Shift

Location:   Louisville, Ky.

Position Description

This position is responsible for handling all customer contacts received by telephone, fax, in writing and in person.  Supports the distribution center, field sales, and pro-actively helps develop sales and distribution.

 

Responsibilities Include: 
Receive and respond to all customer inquires and complaints.
Document customer contacts on report form and distribute to appropriate staff responsible for resolution.
Guiding complaint resolution to ensure that proper and satisfactory closing is obtained for dealer.
Follow up on a regular and as-needed basis with dealers and field service operations on all open and resolved customer contacts.
Resolve issues that can?t be resolved by the assigned customer service representative or delegates them to the appropriate person to be resolved.
Report all out-of-line conditions affecting customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned.

 Minimum Required Qualifications

 

Level of education required

High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.  Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will be considered.



Experience Level

2+ years experience working in a customer service and team oriented environment preferred.  Experience in telephone call center with strong orientation for prompt, accurate response is highly desirable.

 

Skills

Basic PC knowledge, ability to write and communicate professionally in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence customers, vendors, and co-workers.  Knowledge of general clerical duties is necessary.  Basic mathematical skills along with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously are necessary.

 

Language Requirements

Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language.  Bi-lingual a plus. 

 

Travel

Occasional travel is necessary for customer relations, training and other business related needs.  Approximately 10% annually. Other Preferred Qualifications and Skills
The ability to learn systems and information quickly
Sufficient human relations skills to maintain positive service-oriented relations with vendors and other team members.
The ability to learn and understand safety, continuous quality improvement, lean principles and just-in-time within a reasonable period of time.
Patience and persistence in the service of the customer and the ability tot work under pressure.  Must be able to provide accurate and fast response to customer needs.
The ability to independently perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

 

Physical Requirements of the Job

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands, stoop, bend, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls, lift and/or move light objects.  Requires sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate a personal computer keyboard and 10-key.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to observe moving objects and events.  Requires auditory ability to project voice when needed and hear instructions.
