Currently, we are looking for a Customer Service Representative to be based in Vernon Hills, IL for our Cole Parmer Division.



Headquartered in Vernon Hills, IL, Cole-Parmer Instrument Company is a leading worldwide distributor of specialty technical instruments, appliances, equipment and supplies to industrial, bioscience, academic and governmental customers.
Cole-Parmer expands the breadth of Fisher's core product offering to the life-science market and strengthens Fisher's product portfolio.



The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for placing and monitoring orders via phone, fax, e-mail, web and occasional face to face order placement. This position responds to customer service issues with status, pricing, product availability, and any other customer concerns or problems. This position also works closely with buyers and vendors to expedite orders and ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

The highly driven Customer Service Representative must have:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of college coursework preferred.
2 or more years of call center/customer service experience in a fast paced, busy environment, where performance/productivity are measured against metrics/standards
Must possess a high level of communication skills and customer service focus, to develop and maintain constructive working relationship within and outside the company, deliver excellent customer service, be able to handle angry customers and to be stress and pressure resistant.
Must be able to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of routine and non-routine issues.
Must possess analytical skills to interpret customer prepared documents and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Must be organized and detail oriented. Strong data entry skills are required.
Must possess experience with customer service system. Must posses skills in Outlook and Microsoft Word.
Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
