Customer Service Representative I

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Answers high volumes of incoming telephone calls from agents and policyholders concerning the billing of all lines of business in our busy call center. Works various reports and responds to written inquiries such as letters, faxes and emails. Provides efficient, caring service within established quality and quantity standards while assisting in the prompt collection of direct bill premiums.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Required
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred, along with one year minimum experience in a service-related position. Equivalent work experience should include strong customer service experience in a customer service environment or call center. Additionally, the candidate must possess:

1. Ability to learn quickly and apply what is learned immediately

2. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to empathize with the customer and resolve concerns as quickly as possible.

3. Solid negotiation skills with the ability to handle adversarial situations in a professional manner.

4. A high level of initiative and self motivation.

5. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

6. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

7. Basic mathematical aptitude including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

8. Analytical and problem solving skills.

9. Basic PC skills with the ability to enter a minimum of 90 gross keystrokes per minute within accuracy standards as reflected in the QWIZ System alphanumeric data entry test.

10. Computer literacy (word processing and email) and the ability to navigate and process data using multiple screens.

11. Familiarity with office equipment such as adding machines, fax machines and copiers.
