Customer Support Engineer - Plasma Semiconductor Etching and Deposition Products

The Plasma Technology Division of Oxford Instruments America, Inc. is currently seeking a Customer Support Engineer who will be based in the US.

 

Although the location is not important, preferred areas are North Carolina, Texas, and Southern California.

 

In this role you will respond quickly to emergency breakdowns, warranty, and service contract work and you will provide technical troubleshooting, and liaison with customers. You will carry out installation and commissioning of equipment including operation, maintenance, and system orientation training. There will also be an opportunity to be developed as a Field Process Engineer.

 

You will liaise with colleagues throughout the business such as those in Technical Support, Systems Engineering and Sales.

 

You will have at least three years of experience supporting semiconductor-processing equipment, ideally Plasma etch and deposition, Ion beam, or Molecular Beam Epitaxy. The successful candidate should have good electronic, vacuum PC / PLC experience; Logical fault finding skills, and is able to interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings. Degree / AA or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline is preferred.

 

You must be customer focused, pro-active, and a logical thinker.  You will have demonstrated effective relationship skills and have excellent communication skills.  You must be organized and be able to prioritize.

 

This position requires US travel, but occasional worldwide travel may be required. Candidates must be prepared to travel up to 80% of the time.
