Currently, Fisher Scientific Managed Services is looking for a Dock Services Specialist for a complex service engagement in the Ashburn, VA area. Our customer, one of the world's largest philanthropies, is a nonprofit medical research organization that employs hundreds of leading biomedical scientists.

The Dock Services Specialist provides dedicated service at customer?s facility which may include shipping, receiving, desktop delivery, remote stocking maintenance, mail management, chemical tracking, stockroom services or material handling. Serves as a liaison between Fisher and the customer. Establishes and fosters positive customer relationships

Essential functions include:

? Independently makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements, which includes proficiency in Fisher Scientific procedures, customer systems and procedures, stockroom and material handling.
? Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.
? Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer and Fisher reports to ensure customer and Fisher requirements are met.
? Communicates with direct supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.
? Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team.
? Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times
? Attends required training sessions.
? Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:
HS diploma or equivalent; BS/BA degree preferred
1-5 years customer service experience
IATA and DOT certification preferred.
Shipping, receiving, and/or chemical experience.
Experience in laboratory environment preferred.
Ability to work overtime.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, i.e. power and manual pallet jacks, fork lifts, and light material handling equipment.
