Full-Time Security Officer

 

Starting pay rate is $12.58 per hour.

Responsibilities: Observe, detect and report on damage to property as well as safety and/or security hazards. Duties may include performing security patrols by foot or vehicle, answering visitor inquiries, respond to emergencies according to defined procedures; and monitor movement of staff, visitors, assets, equipment and materials. Participates in on-going training programs on safety, first aid, CPR, fire and emergency procedures, security equipment, and related areas. Maintains a high level of customer service to staff and visitors. This position requires standing for long periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift) and wearing of a radio earpiece at normal volume setting. Security officers may be assigned to any shift or any Getty location. May be assigned outdoors and construction posts which may include inclement weather, dust, dirt and noise. We provide paid training. Guard card is NOT required.

 

Work Schedule: 31-40 hours per week (average of 35 hours per week). Must be able to work any shift, holidays, and weekends on a regular basis. You will be assigned a consistent work schedule with regular days off. There is opportunity for overtime.

 

Minimum Requirements:Applicants must be flexible to work @ The Getty Center (Brentwood near UCLA) & @ The Getty Villa (Malibu) Willing to stand for long periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift)Ability to work any shift, holidays and every weekendHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalentValid CALIFORNIA Driver's License with 2 or less DMV pointsMinimum of 2 years of work experience in security, public safety, military and/or customer service experience is requiredPass a physical and drug test as well as a background and reference checkAbility to communicate clearly in person and via radioHave reliable transportationApplicants must be available to interview in Los Angeles.
