Financial Aid Officer

 

Would you like to assist students and their families with financial aid planning?  As a Financial Aid Officer at Hamilton College ? Des Moines (www.hamiltonia.edu) you will be conducting individual counseling for students and their families. You will use your skills to analyze and exercise judgment in conducting a federal need analysis, verification, and initial packaging, for the processing of Title IV aid applications. You will work with a dedicated team under direction of the Director of Financial Aid.  You will represent a college providing quality education and giving students the skills they need for success in their life.  If you enjoy the challenge of a detail oriented environment and believe in ?building futures one success story at a time,? then you will thrive here.

 

What you will do:

? Process and package awards.

? Analyze and accurately process data

? Estimate and award financial aid

? Conduct entrance and exit loan counseling

? Research student application and miscellaneous student aid problems

? Review student files for completion

? Evaluate student for satisfactory academic progress

 

Skills you will need:

? A Bachelor?s degree and comparable experience is  a BIG PLUS 

? Must be figure and detail orientated

? Excellent customer service skills

? Excellent written skills

? Excellent communication skills

? Computer experience is essential.

? Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours
