The primary responsibility of the Level II Technical Support Engineer is to provide support to customers whose issues could not be resolved quickly by Level I Engineer. The Level II Technical Support Engineer is also expected to assist Level I Engineers with any immediate questions they may have regarding customer issues and will specialize in technical issues related to Platform such as Data Analysis and Systems Optimization along with the configuration of supporting applications such as Oracle and MS-SQL Databases; BEA Weblogic; JBoss, and Websphere Application Servers; Apache and IIS Web Servers; Brava Server; and Business Objects Crystal Reports Application Server.

The Level II Technical Support Engineer will escalate issues, answer incoming calls, call back customers for additional information, and call back customers whose issues have been escalated. They will also execute and write SQL statements to repair or retrieve data, research and document resolutions to technical issues and areas of improvement in current configuration recommendations.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of the resources required to run an enterprise level application such as those mentioned in the job description; excellent SQL writing/troubleshooting skills; the ability to present ideas in user-friendly format; highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail; proven analytical and problem-solving abilities; Strong customer service orientation.Experience

2+ years experience in a technical role such as: DBA, Developer, System Admin, or Help Desk Representative.

2+ years experience in a customer orientated role such as: Sales, Customer Support Professional Services.Education

Requires a minimum of a BS degree in a technology or related field.
