Medical Rep Trainee

*Handle low to moderate complexity medical injury claims; take recorded statements; interpret medical records and understand medical terminology regarding soft tissue injuries;
*Identify and investigate insurance coverage, suspected fraud, injury causation and subrogation issues;
*Develop and execute action plans around insurance coverage, fraudulent claims, injury causation and subrogation issues;
*Negotiate accurate resolution of medical and wage loss claims with insured, attorneys and medical providers in accordance with policy contracts, medical coding rules and local statutes;
*Identify loss control opportunities.
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
* Bachelor's degree required or five years of relevant work experience. Relevant experience includes work experience in a position that developed or required the ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve customers, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and embrace new challenges. Relevant work experience must include decision-making responsibility.
* Demonstrated success at working in a team environment.
* Strong customer service orientation. Proficient verbal and written communication skills are required.
* Attention to detail. Good computer skills.
* Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes is a plus.
* Prior experience working in a health care related field is a plus.
*Demonstrated success in multi-tasking and setting priorities. Must be comfortable with change.
Training at this level consists of the Medical Representative I training course and the field Medical Representative I, part two, training course. The typical Medical Representative should expect to assume their full responsibilities after approximately 8 weeks of Trainee status.
