NRC Technician IV

Position Purpose • Repair complex & critical customer outages
? Ability to solely diagnose and repair customer reported troubles within a CLEC environment. This will include, but not limited to, UBL?s, DS1?s, DS3?s, switch translations on a Nortel DMS500 switch or Lucent 5E switch, and voicemail problems. Contact and work with customers, respective LEC, and internal XO personnel until issues are resolved.

Required Skills
? Solid & extensive working experience of the Centest Platform
? Solid understanding of XO network and hardware architecture (or similar technology)
? Demonstratable knowledge & working experience in 2 of the following categories: DMS500 or Nortel 5E (line & trunk side translations), Transportation equipment including Nortel Classics, Nortel 3500 platform, Nortel Acces Nodes, Cicso 454/327, Positrons, ONI2500, 7000, CAC/Adtran Channel Banks, 800 toll free Repair and SSY networking, Sonus Switch
? Expert working knowledge & experience of telephony basics
? Strong telecommunication trouble shooting skills
? Good knowledge of T1, T3, and OCN transport facilities
? Solid understanding & familiarity of SS7 fundamentals
? Solid knowledge & working experience of Digital Cross Connect Systems
? Expert level knowledge of 800 toll free structure
? Working knowledge of LEC structure
? Ability to maintain professional composure when working with customers and colleagues on Repair tickets/calls and escalations
? Accurately maintaining ticket logs & outage/escalation resolutions
? Identifying common defects/trends for creating & implementing standards/processes to avoid repeat issues
? Other duties as required

? MS Office
? Strong working knowledge of Remedy
? Strong working knowledge of TBS
? Strong working knowledge of Net Analyst

Minimum Requirements
? Strong organization and analytical skills
? High School diploma or equivalent
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
? Very proficient with Microsoft Office applications
? Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
