Position Title: Service Specialist - Light Industrial

Location: Campbellsville, KY

Position Objective: To provide technical field support for service providers and enduser customers on Ingersoll-Rand equipment both domestically and internationally but with primary focus on IS-L Solutionizing initiatives. Position value is ensuring field issues are identified and resolved quickly to eliminate customer equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty retained . Also reduction and avoidance of warranty costs through swift identification and resoulution of field issues.

Principal Responsibilities:

* Daily provision of timely response and accurate information to assist the field with troubleshooting of problem equipment.
* Use field feedback and experience to work with Engineering, Qualilty, Sourcing and Manufacturing to implement corrective actions which improve product reliability for customers and reduce warranty expense.
* Develop and conduct effective technical training for service providers and end users to improve their ability to maintain and repair equipment.
* Proactive with development and support of new products to ensure potential issues are identified and resolved early in design and full capability to meet
* Solutionizing objectives attanied. Track and log FTU's to provide esential feedback on new products prior to full release.
* Compile and publish technical bulletins to ensure field personnel have access to latest updates / reference data.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma with 5-10 years of experience in Air Compressors or related mechanical /electrical trouble shooting field
* Position requires respect of and sound working relationships with field technical personel, field service management, internal Engineering, Quality, Sourcing & Manufacturing at all levels.
* Confident, courteous and professional in all situations requiring direct customer contact.
* A demanding position requiring the ability to be involved in and deal effectively with several issues simultaneously via phone / fax /email etc, under pressure in most cases to resolve issues fast due to customer distress.
* The willingness and ability to physically work on equipment as required in the field, which will require knowledge of safety procedures [e.g. lock out/tag out] and also correct lifting practices [rigging for heavy machinery + how to avoid personal injury etc]
* Work will involve confidentiality to prevent potential exposure to claims against the company either legally or financially.
* The position requires travel both domestically and internationally including weekends as required.
