Service Center Representative

Position Summary:
To answer inquiries from members, employers, medical providers or brokers, regarding the status of particular claims or regarding benefits applicable under the group policy administered by CBSA. The representative will also answer inquiries related to eligibility status, premium, commission, and COBRA payments.
Position Responsibilities:
?Contact with providers, secondarily serves groups, brokers and members
? Verification of benefits, claim status, eligibility status, premium and COBRA payment.
? Accurately verify benefits and policy provisions by reading group- specific plan documents.
? Record details of every phone call into the computer system in a format that is easily understood by any member of the claims staff.
? Give the complete disclaimer whenever benefits are quoted.
? Complete follow- up in a professional and timely manner.
? Assist the Service Center in achieving performance goals.
? Facilitate the adjustment of incorrectly processed claims and eligibility by forwarding the necessary information to the appropriate staff.
Reporting Relationships:
? Reports to Service Center Supervisor
? Represents the company in dealing with insured, employers, agents and brokers, medical providers and carriers.
? Works closely with Service Representatives, members of the claims processing staff, and all other staff needed to complete customer requests.
Essential Skills and Experience:
? Highly skilled at listening, comprehending and empathizing.
? Relies on instructions, tools and written guidelines.
? Basic knowledge of workflow and how own work relates to others in unit.
? Basic computer experience needed
? Ability to multi-task, conversing and keyboarding simultaneously
? Ability to resolve conflict effectively
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
? Call Center and/or customer service experience
? Prior medical or insurance background preferred
Success Factors
? Meet and/or exceeds all Service Center standards for a Service Representative I
? The Service Representative will possess the following attributes: Dependability, reliability, and customer focused.
