Service Specialist - Branch Helpdesk
Do you have customer service experience and enjoy working extensively with others? Are you comfortable spending long hours on the telephone? If so, Edward Jones is looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic individual to serve as a Helpdesk associate. This highly specialized position includes 13 weeks of initial training in addition to ongoing training as new hardware and software is introduced. Duties include answering and troubleshooting phone calls and wires from branch offices relating to software, hardware and technical equipment, researching technical information for branch offices, providing excellent service, educating and explaining software, hardware, technical procedures and general information to branch offices, and assisting in training and mentor new associates. If you're ready for a new career challenge, this may be a perfect opportunity for you!
Responsibilities:
The Helpdesk supports branch and home-office associates of Edward Jones in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Helpdesk associates respond to requests for assistance with electronic equipment and/or software. They troubleshoot and help resolve problems, escalate issues to other IS departments when appropriate, and dispatch service vendors as necessary. Helpdesk associates are required to gain a thorough understanding of all hardware, software operating and applications, and network connections. All activities are logged in our problem management system, and associates are required to provide off-hours support when necessary.
All Helpdesk associates complete a 13-week modular training program. The training includes classroom training on specific equipment and phone training to reinforce learning. Finally, Helpdesk associates are provided advance training as new hardware and software is introduced into the Edward Jones environment.
Requirements:
-A strong corporate service background and a desire to be in a technical service-oriented position.
-A strong desire to exceed and work in the technical industry.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Problem-solving skills
-Ability to learn and work in a dynamic team environment.
-Must be willing to participate in a 13-week academic training program.
-A bachelor's degree or associate's degree is strongly preferred.
