We are seeking an enthusiastic Supervisor, Data Management to join the team in our Williamston, NC office.

As the Supervisor, Data Management, the ideal candidate will manage and supports team of non-exempt data administrator staff to maximize productivity and quality of outputs to meet internal customer requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES (Accountabilities, including financial/ staff/ material data as appropriate, and Primary Tasks): -- Manage a team of Clinical Data Management staff. Size of team could vary from 10-20.
- Work with supervisor to define and prioritize resource assignments across projects.
- Allocate work to staff on short-term, tactical basis.
- Directly responsible for utilization, quality and productivity of staff.
- Assess and document competency of staff to satisfy position responsibilities. Regularly set goals and evaluates and documents performance.
- Propose promotion and termination actions.
- Actively contribute to recruitment of new staff.
- Implementation of department/office objectives.
- Provide review and guidance for production of Data Management documentation or deliverables that have a direct impact on the Data Management Function. For example, a Supervisor of Clinical Data Services would provide review of data entry guidelines and assist in testing of database set-up and validation programming.
- Provide technical advice and solutions within Data Management Function to solve problems and improve efficiency.
- Serve as technical expert for activities performed in clinical data management systems by the Data Management Function.
- Ensure that staff is trained and compliant with current operating procedures and work instructions and project scope of work pertaining to the Data Management Function.
- Identify and address training needs of staff. 14. Mentor staff members to develop Data Management process and system expertise.
- Primary interactions are with internal Data Management project team.
- May participate in on-site customer audits performing clinical data management system demonstrations or reviewing documentation.
- Understand scope of work, budget, and scope assumptions as it pertains to the Data Management Function.
- Ensure target project metrics are routinely achieved with high quality.
- May spend significant time performing work tasks associated with the Data Management Function.

QUALIFICATIONS (education level / specific work history experience):
- BS preferred or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 6-9 years of relevant work experience is required in Clinical Data Management or similar functional area.
- Technical knowledge of computer systems as it pertains to data entry.
- Good oral communication skills are required.
- Solid understanding of data management process is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively manage performance of staff; previous people management experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (any specific physical attributes or limiting factors to be accounted for):
Position requires large amount of keyboarding involving motions with fingers and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
