Technical Document Specialist

Supervise/perform authoring, assembly, distribution and storage of technical literature and manuals in both printed and electronic format.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Select outside suppliers (printers and electronic publishers) and supervise their efforts.
2. Establish printing standards for outside suppliers.
3. Establish priorities for production and replacement manual orders (to ensure manuals are shipped on time).
4. Maintain production/shipping records.
5. Resolve customer complaints.
6. Maintain and request product manual translations for new product.
7. Develop product Owner CD?s for aftermarket sales.
8. Develop and maintain web system for electronic deployment of technical information.
Marginal Job Functions:
1. Requisition supplies.
2. Write letters, emails, faxes.
3. Perform other duties assigned by management.

1. High school or equivalent education, plus Associate Degree in Graphic Arts or 3 years experience in printing or publishing environment.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
4. Ability to communicate with technically oriented people.
5. PC literate and familiar with word processing, spread sheet, PDF and database software.
6. Internet skills.
7. Willingness to stay current in field of specialization.
