Account Representative First Party - FT - (CS10884)

CUSTOMER SERVICE / COLLECTOR

The Account Representative, First Party actively works the collection and management of marginally past due and delinquent accounts. Duties include handling both incoming and outgoing phone calls, answering consumer questions within the scope of the project and contacting consumers of past due accounts by correspondence and telephone to discuss and secure prompt payment. Incumbent must exercise tact and sound judgment in obtaining voluntary cooperation rather than resorting to legal sanctions. Work is performed within clearly defined areas of regulations and procedures, and is reviewed and monitored by a supervisor or manager.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

? High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
? Prior customer service and/or collection experience helpful
? Data entry skills
? Excellent communication skills - speaking and listening
? Ability to Multi-task


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (To include but not limited to the following)

Telephone Contact

? Utilize established call models and scripts to respond consumer inquiries and to secure a definite commitment to pay the overdue balance in the most expedient manner.
? Assist consumer with problem solving such that accounts can be paid, identify the extent of the delinquency, obtain a firm commitment and any additional information required to resolve the account.
? Determine the best method of collection and advise the consumer of consequences of non-compliance.
? Secure or request financial data to support accounts that are deemed uncollectable.
? Secure information to make adjustments, trace payments or change entity data as necessary.
? Follow up on contacts.

Correspondence

? Correspondence may come in the form of notices sent to delinquent accounts. Review correspondence and respond according to client directions. Make account documentation accordingly.
? Other correspondence may result from previous telephone contacts (i.e. mail skip, copies of cancelled checks showing proof of payment, etc.) Respond and document accounts accordingly.

Other Duties

? As required make appropriate referrals for research, to other departments or to otherwise resolve consumer complaints.
? Document case history.
? Complete follow-up actions
? Identify and review accounts for payment history.
