The main duty of an Admissions Advisor is to conduct interviews with each prospective student and evaluate whether or not they are a good fit for the University based on his/her needs, desires, interests, qualifications, motivations, and commitments. They explain the University?s programs, policies and procedures to prospective students and others involved in their decision to attend college.

 

Admissions Advisors are a student?s first point of contact at the University and are responsible for guiding prospective student through the admissions process while building rapport, demonstrating capability and gaining their commitment. Advisors must seek to understand prospective students? needs and take action to meet those needs.

 

To be a successful Admissions Advisor you must be:Goal Oriented MotivatedAdaptable Able to prioritizeHave outstanding interpersonal skills

 

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years admissions experience and a bachelor?s degree is preferred. Candidates must also have knowledge of basic computer applications including e-mail and the Internet.
