Alternative Education Positions

Cornell Companies, Inc is currently operating alternative education programs for regular and special needs children in the Reading, Lebanon, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia areas, grades 3-12. Our programs provide a safe and highly structured educational setting to improve the students' academic performance and attendance.

 

We are currently interviewing for the following positions:

Intervention specialist/youth counselor and parent coordinator at our Lebanon Alternative Education Program POLARIS in Lebanon, PA.

 

This position will work with youth in an alternative school environment for the 2006-07 school year. Job responsibilities for teachers include creating lesson plans and activities, delivering district approved curriculum, and providing guidance and redirection throughout a school day via behavioral management techniques.  Intervention specialists will provide clinical/educational support and treatment planning for students in the classroom setting.  A high degree of patience and creativity is preferred as well as the ability to be educationally engaging for children while maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment.

 

INTERVENTION SPECIALIST 3 - Minimum of 4 yr. degree in related field. Teachers must be highly qualified and possess current PA teacher certification.  Salary from 30,000 to 33,000 depending on experience and education

INTERVENTION SPECIALIST 1 - Minimum 2 yr. degree and experience working with youth.  Salary from 27,000 to 29,000 depending on experience and education.

Parent Coordinator - Minimum 4 yr. degree and related experience working with youth and families.  Bilingual fluency required due to regular interaction with spanish speaking families and staff. 

 

Candidates must possess a valid PA driver's license, be 21 years of age, and pass criminal clearances (ACT 33 and 34, and FBI if out of state). No phone calls. EOE
