Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

Southern Utah University seeks applicants for Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing.  This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure or non-tenure track position, depending upon qualifications and experience.  Starting Date is negotiable:  August 16, 2006 or January 2, 2007.

 

General Duties & Responsibilities:

? Teach classroom and clinical nursing courses.

? Advise nursing students.

? Work effectively as a member of the Department of Nursing team.

? Serve on department, college, and university committees.

? Other assignments as determined by department chair and dean.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position may be either tenure track or non-tenure track, depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant.

 

For a Tenure Track Position:

? A Masters Degree in Nursing required; Doctorate in related field required.

? Nursing licensure in the state of Utah required.

? Teaching excellence in nursing at undergraduate level essential.

? Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

For a Non-Tenure Track Position:

? A Masters Degree in Nursing required; Doctorate in related field preferred.

? Nursing licensure in the state of Utah required.

? Teaching excellence in nursing at undergraduate level essential.

? Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Salary range for a tenure track position is $60,000 to 75,000, depending upon qualifications and experience; excellent retirement (14.2% with TIAA/CREF) and medical benefits.
