Are you an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion to share your knowledge with committed students? Then, Maric College ? San Diego has the opportunity for you.  As Assistant Director of Nursing, you will work with the Director of Nursing to provide overall leadership in the development, growth, and management of our Nursing program. With almost 1000 students in our medical programs, strive to provide quality educational programs to our students.  Presently, 340 students are enrolled in our well established vocational nursing program.  We also offer additional medical programs in: Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant Training Program, Patient Care Assistant/Technician, and an Associates Degree in Nursing.

 

Our new, large facility (only 1.5 yrs old) is well equipped with up to date Skills Labs, for Blood work, Rehab/Physical Therapy, and Microbiology. There are computers in most classrooms.  We are currently remodeling additional space for our rapidly growing campus.

What you will do:

 Evaluate curriculums, teaching methods of instruction, clinical facilities,  lesson plans and texts in educational and other programs with Director of NursingAssist the educational staff to achieve program objectives, ensuring that curriculum development and course syllabi are consistent with the catalogAssist with the interview and selection of staff members; provide in-service training and professional development for instructors; as well as plan, assign, and direct work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; address complaints and resolve problems.Coordinate with Lead Instructors curriculum content, schedules, instructor assignments, as well as participate in classroom and laboratory activitiesMaintain active membership in professional nursing organizations.  Enhance current knowledge and skills through attending conferences, classes, reading journals and independent study.

 

The Skills and Experience you will need:

 Master?s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration;A minimum of one year?s experience in an administrative position;A minimum of two years? experience teaching in Pre or Post licensure nursing programs;At least one year?s experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) providing direct patient careExcellent oral and written communication skills.Highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to consistently multi-task.
