The purpose of this position is to ensure the efficient operation of the Office of the Registrar by managing staff, processes, and daily correspondence. Ensure the quality and the integrity of the student transcript by overseeing the registration, grading, and veteran's processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee office staff and ensure efficient functioning of the office and its processes. Process reinstatements, withdrawals, leave of absences, suspensions, and dismissals. Process degree audit to insure all graduation requirements have been met.
Oversee veteran's benefits processing. Insure information from the student (forms) is correct and that the information delivered to the VA is accurate and up to date.
Field questions from students and the VA regarding the process. Manage international student information. Issue I-20's and insure compliance with SEVIS and INS requirements.Work with deans, program directors, students, faculty, and staff. These interactions are crucial to the operation of the Office of the Registrar. Provide exceptions to policy when necessary and communication reasons for upholding the policy to constituents when necessary. Field complaints from students, faculty, and staff.
Insure that the registration process runs smoothly by maintaining the database, online registration, course syllabi, and faculty assignments. Field calls concerning problems with registration and provide exceptions as needed.
Insure that admissions decisions and communications are handled efficiently. Communication policy and procedure to the Deans, program directors, and the enrollment staff in Baltimore.
Strong management skills necessary. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Strong leadership skills. Command of Microsoft Office, email, web-editing, and database software. Must possess a calm, yet direct demeanor for dealing with faculty, staff, and students.
