Summary of Responsibilities:

The role of the position is to enhance service quality by providing training through creating, conducting, maintaining and evaluating educational programs for the Life New Business staff across the enterprise.

This position participates in analytical studies pertaining to processes and contributes to the recommendations. Duties may range from performing moderately complex studies to assisting in the development and implementation of highly complex processes and operating arrangements

A collaborative team player, with Life Insurance, New Business and Underwriting experience with an appreciation of the importance of training to the organization is an ideal candidate.

Principal Responsibilities:
Research Analysis - Analyzes Customers training needs obtaining detailed training requirements by asking questions by conducting manager or subject matter expert interviews to understand all nuances of requirements, and continuously partners with Business Associates to ensure that courses, documentation and communication material reflects current procedures, processes, policies and/or product features.
 Design and Development - Creative design and development of audience appropriate training materials to include instructor-led programs, on-the-job practice, self-paced exercises and written communications. Materials are in the form of lesson plans, training materials (both paper and online), exercises, live accounts, quizzes and role-play scenarios etc., for all assigned new hire and refresher classes.
 Delivery - Collaborates effectively with other functional groups (project management, technology, sales, etc.) and with the Life New Business customers to provide the ultimate learning experience by taking requirements and develop them into effective training deliverables. Instructs participants in classroom settings through lectures and practical sessions.

Required Competencies:

- Strong Life Insurance, New Business and Underwriting subject matter expertise within Life New Business.

- Recent training experience with the ability to translate learning needs into instructional tools.

- Ability to demonstrate urgency, working independently to organize, prioritize and to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

- Ability to resolve conflict appropriately and effectively resolve problems- particularly within the classroom setting, and with Life New Business customers.

- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including keen listening skills.

- Demonstration of excellent written, verbal, communication and customer service skills.

- Excellent presentation and classroom management skills with a high level of motivation and enthusiasm in the classroom.

- Team Player - Participates in team meetings, providing input and suggestions.

- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Powerpoint, Information Mapping, Lotus Notes Databases, various delivery methods and New Business mainframe-type systems.
