Chief Administrative Officer, WY

K12 Inc. is a dynamic new company on a mission to provide the most compelling, comprehensive, and effective technology-enhanced K-12 education available. We are searching for a talented, experienced Chief Administrative Officer for our Virtual School Program in Wyoming (WY) to help us transform cognitive science, great interactive design, compelling teaching, and engaging training into education that gives children a major down payment on the challenges of the 21st century.

Responsibilities include:

? Responsible for developing and implementing school mission, vision, strategic planning
? Ultimate responsibility for K12 school-based management team
? Oversee academic and operational aspects of the school
? Oversee school marketing, enrollment and PR
? Manage all staff HR issues in coordination with K12 centralized HR team
? Oversee staff orientations and professional development
? Work with K12 to ensure that processes and communication between the school and K12 are in place.
? Implement the school?s policies and oversee the writing of its handbooks
? Responsible for ensuring that school compliance and reporting requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner (including school report cards and all district, state, and federal reports)
? Ensure that the school is complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education
? Prepare and oversee annual budget
? Understand the state Chart of Accounts
? Promote the school and its interests with political, education, and civic leaders across the state
? Develop and maintain relationships with districts, Education Service Centers, and the state
? Organize and lead student recruitment events across the state

In addition to the above school-specific responsibilities, the Head of School may be asked to assist with national K12 efforts including: participation in special projects and/or task forces, development of policies and procedures, training, and curriculum enhancements.

Requirements
? Masters degree or equivalent work experience
? School administration and business experience
? Experience with School Boards
? Experience with Local, State, and Federals laws and reporting
? Great organizational and time management skills
? Comfortable with budget development
? Flexible schedule, able to travel in-state and out-of-state
? Proficient in MS Excel, MSWord, and Outlook, and the Internet
? Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database preferred
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
