Classroom ABA Counselor

Melmark New England is a school and residential program for children with developmental delays. Our children range from 4-22 years of age with developmental delays such as autism, brain injury, and neurological disorders. Our children also exhibit aggressive behaviors such as kicking and biting.


JOB SUMMARY:
The Classroom Teacher/Float is responsible for providing educational instruction to assigned students in a structured classroom environment designed to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. He/She will assist in developing teaching plans that are appropriate to the ages and populations served.  Students served may have had multiple treament failures prior to this placement. Teachers are expected to implement highly technical clinical and teaching programs that require teachers to be constantly alert and ready to respond to student?s needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor?s degree in psychology, human services or education discipline required. Starting salary of $28,500 to low 30's with differential for experience/training in applied behavior analysis. (Higher depending on years and quality of experience). SPED certified teachers $ 31,223 to mid $30?s.
