HIMSS is seeking local Chicago candidates for Coordinator of our US Conference.  This position is responsible for supporting the planning and development of the US HIMSS Conference.  Works on the Call for Proposals from the start when the Call is designed, through the conference when the sessions are delivered; this involves speaker management and coordination of the work of reviewers, coaches, and copy editors.  Maintains records of speakers, advisory committee members, vendors, and collaborators involved in educational programs.  Assists in fulfilling educational goals and objectives for the US Conference.  Communicates with speakers to assure that all signatures are obtained, power point slides are submitted on a timely basis, and that conference logistics are coordinated for assigned speakers (e.g. on-site instructions).  Coordinates all sessions from co-sponsors and selected other invited speakers. Works with coaches to assure that their work with speakers progresses appropriately.  Assures that all print messaging (brochure, on-site resource guide, web) is accurate and complete and timely on assigned speakers and sessions.  Maintains strong customer service behavior toward speakers, their representatives, team members, and others related to the work of HIMSS.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.  Two years of related work experience in conference or education program development is highly desired.  Must have excellent grammar skills; attention to detail and a strong customer service orientation.  Previous  experience in a professional society, trade association or healthcare environment preferred.  HIMSS offers a competitive total compensation and benefits program including health, life and a tuition reimbursement program.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please send resume along with salary history to:  2662@himss.hrmdirect.com
