Correspondence Specialist III (CDC)

- Research and prepare written responses following CDC procedures and guidelines.
- Sort and triage CDC-INFO correspondence to appropriate tiers, and route triaged emails appropriately.
- Escalate emails to Tier 3 as necessary.
- Review and approve outgoing email responses.
- As necessary, review and approve standard prepared responses for both email and call handling.
- Respond to requests from physicians, health care facilities, and the public about the treatment and management of individuals potentially exposed to hazardous substances.
- As directed, respond to citizen petitions regarding toxicity of hazardous wastes.
- Maintain awareness of current developments in the field of environmental medicine.
- Assist with management of multi-functional activities of the Correspondence Team.
- Provide oversight of department workload and adjust workload assigned to Correspondence Team members as necessary to meet internal and contractual commitments.
- Provide direction to team members to implement and maintain standard processes.
- Act as Correspondence Team liaison to other functional groups within Pearson.
- May be required to work after normal business hours and on weekends.
- Occasional travel to customer and other Pearson sites may be required.

- Three to five years experience in Public Health, MPH preferred.
- RN or MD qualifications preferred to prepare correspondence of a clinical nature.
- Specialized experience in the field of environmental medicine as it relates to national evaluation of hazardous chemicals or materials that are associated with illnesses.
- General knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of public health and health education.
- Proven written communication skills specific to health communication and County or State level policy writing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Security clearance may be required.
