Curriculum Development Specialist

HighReach Learning, an early childhood educational publisher,

has an opening for Curriculum Development Specialist

(specializing in Pre-K Curriculum)

in our Charlotte, NC office.

Our?Curriculum Development Specialist?will assist in writing and developing monthly early childhood curriculum programs and will be responsible for keeping abreast of educational standards and trends that impact the development of HighReach Learning curriculum materials.

?

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the position include:

?Coordinate monthly curriculum programs from the planning stages all the way through to finished product that is ready to be shipped to the customerCreate new ideas and support materials for monthly curriculum and teacher resource productsAttend early childhood conferences in different capacities- attendee/presenter/booth exhibitorConduct research and gather information from professional sources that will be distributed to applicable parties within the organizationWrite and present workshops for a variety of settingsSpend time in classrooms with children associated with the age curriculum for whom he/she writes. Keep a log or journal or observations that will be turned in to the supervisorWork closely with sales staff and customer service to provide support to identified issues and requests for training and informationMaintain frequent contact with current and former HighReach Learning customers as it relates to his/her respective curriculum programFlow-reading designated curriculum programs as part of the proofing process, ensuring appropriate educational content, consistency of curriculum presentation, organization and feasibility or information and style guide issuesCoordinate group planning sessions or monthly curriculum to which Curriculum Development Specialist is assignedParticipate in development of Teacher resource materialsWrite and proof copy for catalog, other advertising and presentations as needed

We are seeking candidates who have a strong desire to work in educational publishing developing educational materials and curriculum for preschoolers.

Our specific qualifications for this position include:

?Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldThorough knowledge of federal, state and local educational standards and trendsGood understanding and experience with Head Start programs3 plus years classroom experienceGreat attention to detailAbility to write and present workshops and training courses for a variety of settingsProfessional appearance and demeanorExcellent oral and written communication skills

This position is salaried, exempt from overtime and may require some travel.
