The International Academy of Design and Technology, is a post secondary baccalaureate and associate degree-granting college dedicated to providing academic excellence in Multimedia Production and Design, Merchandising Management, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Advertising & Design, Computer Graphic Design and Information Technology. Through career-related and general curriculum, The Academy prepares its students for professional opportunities in their chosen fields.
We are currently seeking a financial services professional for the following role:
DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING EXCELLENCE
Chicago, IL
This position will report to the Vice-president of Academics.
Responsibilities:
Support and develop instructional coherence and faculty development.
Work with academic administration to fulfill program goals of student retention and faculty retention through faculty development.
Research and develop instructional resources for the CTLE.
Develop and facilitate one-on-one/small/large group collaborative discussions regarding educational frameworks.
Informal Observations of faculty to support and encourage faculty development.
Involvement in recruitment/hiring process.
Continuous development and facilitating of new/ returning faculty orientation.
Development, implementation and delivery of quarterly faculty development in-service sessions.
Provide regular/on-going training opportunities in areas of teaching and education for faculty and Program Directors.
Involvement in CEC Faculty Development Network.
Coordinate faculty appreciation and faculty mentoring/coaching program.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; Master's in Education is preferred.
At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience.
Knowledge of/experience in Faculty Development and creating a student-centered learning environment.
Working knowledge of educational framework and effective practices.
A strong commitment to teamwork.
Effective positive communication and leadership skills.
