Dean (Business/Technology)

Heald College is a nonprofit career college whose mission is to provide focused programs in business, technology and healthcare that prepare students for success in the workplace in the shortest practical time. Established in 1863, the school serves 11 campuses in California, Oregon, and Hawaii.

We currently have an opening for a Dean of Business/Technology Programs at our Roseville campus.

The Dean of Business and Technology provides overall educational leadership for all business and technology programs of the campus.

? Recommends to the Regional Director of Academic Affairs (DAA) and or the Dean of Educational Programs (DEP) the hiring of full-time and part-time business/technology faculty.
? Recommends to the Regional DAA all business/technology program scheduling: master schedule, faculty assignments and student schedules.
? Participates in faculty evaluations.
? Provides leadership for the college?s student retention management program and achieves annual campus quarterly retention targets for business programs.
? Develops business/technology program articulation agreements.
? Oversees programmatic budgeting and planning.
? Assists the Regional DAA and/or DEP in ensuring high quality student services to include providing academic advising for students as it relates to their business program.
? Maintains on-going communications with regional business and industry to assure program relevance and viability.
The minimum qualifications to effectively fulfill the functions of the position include:

 

? Master?s degree required.
? If master?s degree is not in a business-related field, person must have at least three (3) recent full-time experience in a business, industry, or management position.
? Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
? Strong student-centered focus; commitment to student satisfaction and success.
? Knowledge and experience in student retention, academic advising, student & instructor scheduling, academic budgeting and planning.
? Experience in developing articulation agreements with other colleges and universities preferred.
? Experience in developing partnerships with business and industry preferred.
? Commitment to work one day per week each quarter to cover late afternoon and evening hours (such as 2:00 to 10:00 p.m.) required.
? Effectiveness in fostering collaboration among team members and providing dynamic leadership focused on student success, customer service, and service excellence essential required.
? Successful managerial experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
? Proven, excellent interpersonal communication skills and work with a diverse variety of campus, CAO and community groups and individuals to effectively accomplish his/her position responsibilities required.
