Digital Media Instructor

Musicians Institute is looking for a candidate to develop and teach an introductory course on graphics, photo editing and web design. The course will have twenty 2-hour meetings over 6 months and is part of a program aimed at independent musicians who want to record and release their own music. The position will likely require 4-8 hours of teaching per week and begin in October. Students will learn about recording and general music business concepts in other classes. Each student will own an Apple laptop. Below is a list of objectives for this course.

 

At the end of the course students should be able to:

 Design and print professional looking cd artwork, posters and flyers using Adobe PhotoshopSet up a simple website using the iWeb software contained on their Mac laptopsUnderstand basic marketing and graphic design principles (unified look and feel, logo creation etc?)have a basic understanding of how to set up a simple online payment system so that they can sell cd?s and other merchandise via the internethave a basic understanding of how to create online discussion boards and electronic mailing lists

 

Qualifications:

 Experience in professional web designHigh proficiency in Adobe PhotoshopKnowledge of iWeb is a plusExperience working with the Music Industry is a plus
