Director, Institutional Research

 

Charter Oak is a distance learning college established in 1973 to assist adult learners in completing their college degree. Due to student demand, in 1998, the College began offering courses online. Today we offer more than 130 video and online courses ? more than any other public college in the state. Courses can be taken for personal development or to earn credits that can be applied toward a degree or professional certificate.

Position Summary:

 

The Director manages the College?s institutional research responsibilities, including IPEDS reporting, assessment surveys and special research projects. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Manages the College?s institutional research responsibilities

?  Supervises the collection and provision of required IPEDS data

?  Manages the design, data collection, and analysis of COSC surveys

?  Provides appropriate reports to the BSAA

?  Manages the collection and provision of data required by DHE including annual Performance Indicators

?  Recommends research activities to inform Charter Oak decisions

?  Supports the development and revision of Charter Oak?s standardized tests

?  Develops and manages research projects and data analysis to support COSC activities including strategic planning

?  Provides leadership for outcomes assessment  planning and technical assistance for outcomes assessment activities

?  Coordinates with CTDLC on consortium data gathering and analysis

?  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  Master?s Degree (Doctorate preferred), data and analysis experience, experience developing computer-based surveys, experience with relational student data bases (preferably Jenzabar), experience with outcomes assessment and test development and experience with online learning, adult learners, and online student services.  This position requires excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills, communication, organization, and presentation skills, as well as experience with Access and SPSS.
