Director of Career Services
Heald College is a nonprofit career college whose mission is to provide focused programs in business, technology and health care that prepare students for success in the workplace in the shortest practical time at 11 campuses in California, Oregon, and Hawaii.
We currently have an opening for a Director of Career Services at our San Francisco campus.
The Director of Career Services coordinates all activities of job placement services for students and graduates. To facilitate job placement, the Director of Career Services initiates, develops, and maintains positive relationships within the business community.
As the Director of Career Services, you will get to:
? Advise students, graduates, and alumni in career planning and job search.
? Conduct job-search seminars to assist students with resume and cover letter writing,
job-search strategies, and interviewing techniques.
? Develop full-time and part-time job opportunities and set up career fairs and on-campus interviews.
? Speak in classes and coordinate outside speakers from the workplace as requested by faculty.
? Survey employers for skill needs, software utilization, and job trends.
? Supervise the orientation and placement of students in the Internship Program.
? Participate as a team member in orientation, graduation, and all required activities at the college.
? Develop and maintain Alumni Association and employer relationships.
? Act as a liaison with the business community by representing Heald in local area trade shows, networking events and professional development workshops.
? Coordinate mock interviews for students, as needed, with employers and Career Services staff.
Requirements to be successful in this position, you will need: Bachelor?s degree required, graduate degree preferred.Previous employee management experience required. Minimum of three years of experience working with placement at an educational institution or as a recruiter for a company. Excellent customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf motivated to set and attain goals and to demonstrate the ability to meet performance standards and deadlinesAction-oriented, "can do" attitude demonstrating willingness to accept accountability and responsibility for individual actionsAbility to work effectively as part of a team
