Disability Services Coordinator

DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for providing a range of services to students with disabilities at the Law Center. Responsibilities will include working with the Dean of Students to approve accommodations for students with disabilities and the subsequent ongoing counseling and assistance. This position will obtain class and study materials in appropriate formats and will provide them to students in a timely and confidential fashion. This position will also be responsible for accommodated exam administration, including coordinating individual exam schedules and arranging for any special services, equipment, or accommodations, such as enlarging, taping, brailing or transcribing exams, all while maintaining the utmost discretion and sensitivity to the students? needs. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the incumbent will provide supervision of temporary employees throughout the year and most extensively during the exam periods. The incumbent has contact with the entire Law Center community, including students, deans, full-time and adjunct faculty, administrators, and staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
3 to 5 years of work experience in disability services, preferably in a higher education environment; Master?s degree in relevant studies. Candidate must be computer-literate, with advanced skills in Word and WordPerfect, e-mail systems, and PC-based database management programs, such as Microsoft Access, all in a Windows environment. Familiarity with internet research tools is needed.
