NEESinc seeks an outstanding leader to serve as its Education, Outreach, and Training (EOT) Manager.  The position requires exceptional ability to work with widely-distributed resources to convey both a community vision and complex earthquake engineering principles to audiences ranging from grade school to post-doc researchers, to engineering practitioners, and to community stakeholders including the general public.  The ideal candidate is an energetic, creative, articulate, community-oriented individual, who is comfortable working with both earthquake-engineering principles and a broad range of media including print, graphics, and web-based tools.  The candidate should have demonstrated skill and experience with education and outreach activities that meet the needs of government, academic, and non-profit entities.  The EOT Manager will have primary responsibility to manage all EOT policies and activities of the Consortium including coordination of activities at the 15 NEES Equipment Sites and the NEES Cyberinfrastructure Center (NEESit).  The EOT Manager will prepare media releases and foster linkages with professional engineering, research organizations, and educational organizations that can extend the overall breadth and impact of the NEES investment.

The salary range for the EOT Manager position is expected to be in the range of $90,000-$115,000 per year with benefits comparable to similar not-for-profit institutions.  Davis is a university-oriented community near California?s capital of Sacramento noted for its desirable quality of life, its small-town atmosphere, its emphasis on parks and open spaces, its proximity to outstanding recreational opportunities, and the quality of its educational system.

Applicants should electronically submit a single PDF file addressed to EOT Manager Search Committee, NEES Consortium, Inc., at info@nees.org .  Both the transmittal and filename should clearly reference the EOT Manager position being sought.  To be assured of full consideration, applications should be received by August 31, 2006; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  The applicants file should contain:

1) A statement describing the applicant?s vision and strategy for startup and sustained management of the NEES EOT program;

2) A current CV;

3) Names and contact information for a minimum of three references, and

4)  Completed employment application form (found on nees.org website)

A selection committee will assist in review and screening of the applications, interviews of finalists, and development of recommendations to the Executive Director and Board.  NEES Consortium, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.

 Further information about the EOT Manager position can be found under ?employment opportunities? at the NEESinc website <www.nees.org>.
