LYCEUM KENNEDY FRENCH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL offers a French bilingual immersion program for students aged 2.5-17, from Nursery through 11th grade. Founded in 1964, it has a permanent location at 225 East 43rd Street in Manhattan.
The school enrolls French speaking and non-French speaking students coming from the local community as well as from international schools in Western Europe and around the world. They benefit from a dual approach to learning, mixing the flexibility and creativity of the American system with the more rigorous French method.

Twenty-five nationalities are represented and more than twenty languages are spoken among students, parents, and faculty.
Our French and American academic curricula nurture each child's gift for languages. They allow our students to succeed in the French, American and international school setting while developing their intellectual and personal growth in a stimulating, diverse, and multicultural environment. The school has one classroom per grade level and the student-teacher ratio is low in order to facilitate the interactions needed to acquire a foreign language at an early age.

JOB SCOPE:
The Teacher develops the English curriculum in the Nursery class, implements and evaluates the individual educational plan for each assigned student, collaborates and coordinates closely with French partner teacher who teaches French in the same level, provides regular communication with parents. Completes all required student evaluations.
Number of students: 10 (ages 2.5-3)
1 English certified teacher working with 1 French certified teacher with group of 10 students
12-month employment contract renewable in March of each year

PRINCIPLE DUTIES include:
. Develop and teach English curriculum in Nursery class
. 10 students: 30% of the time taught in English, 70% in French
. Manage instructional environment in a manner that fosters learning and growth.
. Prepare and direct daily classroom activities with French teacher and maintain daily lesson plan book that displays instruction in all content areas.
. Establish annual teaching goals and objectives for students.
. Assess developmental functioning and learning skills of students in all areas at regularly planned intervals and maintain necessary records.
. Establish daily communication with parents
. Collaborates closely with French colleague and all preschool faculty
. Consult with colleagues on all phases of student program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or Master's degree in Education and a New York State early childhood certification (birth to 2nd grade). Minimum of 2 years of yearly childhood teaching experience. Strong collaborative skills requested. Knowledge of French language preferred.

Salary offered: low $30s (depending on experience)
