FIELD SUPERVISOR/COORDINATOR OF FIELDWORK

 

Loyola Marymount University?s Department of Academic Affairs has an opening for a Coordinator of Fieldwork. This position ensures implementation of quality field supervision for candidates in Special Education, Bilingual Education, Professional 2042 Credential, and General Education by active engagement in the field work experience of candidates. 

 

Primary responsibilities include recruitment, hire and evaluation of supervisors, master teachers and on-site support providers. This position will also assist in conducting professional development for all supervisors, master teachers and on-site support providers.  Coordinate, monitor and evaluate student teaching placements.  Respond to supervisor, candidate and school-site concerns.  Collect, monitor and review fieldwork evidence.  Represent LMU with the educational community, K-12 school and districts and at professional organizations or associations. Position will also serve on School of Education and University committees as required.

We seek candidates with a Master?s degree or equivalent experience.  State of California teaching credential required.  Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.  Minimum two years experience in education and/or supervising K-12 school professionals and five years K-12 teaching experience required.  Also required is demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: clinical education, employee supervision and development, assessment and policy formulation and implementation.  Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports, handbooks, correspondence, and executive summaries. Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.  Demonstrated computer competency and knowledge of Microsoft Office and student information systems preferred.
